GemViewer Privacy Policy

GemViewer (“the App”) provides realistic 3D jewelry rendering for Shopify stores. This policy describes what information the App processes when a merchant installs it, and how that information is used.

Information the App collects

• Store information. On installation the App stores your shop domain and an API access token issued by Shopify. These are required for the App to operate and are stored securely.
• Product information. The App reads product titles and images to show them in its dashboard, and writes a product metafield that links a product to its 3D model file.
• 3D model files. Files you upload through the App are stored in your own store’s Shopify Files storage. The App does not keep a copy of your files on its own servers.

Information the App does not collect

The App does not collect, store, or process any personal data of your customers. It does not read orders, customer profiles, or analytics. The storefront viewer runs entirely in the shopper’s browser and sends no data to us.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. Data is only exchanged with Shopify’s own APIs as needed to provide the App’s features.

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall the App, its access token is invalidated by Shopify and stored session data is deleted. Model files remain in your own store’s Files storage (they belong to your store) and can be removed at any time from the Shopify admin. We honor Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks: shop data erasure requests are processed automatically, and customer data requests return nothing because no customer data is held.
